    Ever heard of Data Saver in Chrome on Android? It typically pops-up across your device’s screen when you open Chrome for the first time, asking if you want to conserve on data usage by allowing Google to compress web pages before you load them. The feature was introduced around the time that carriers started ripping you off “optimizing” their network by limiting your data plans and killing off unlimited, but it now will serve a new purpose or additional purpose.  (more…)

    Adobe Releases Premiere Clip for Android, a Free Video Editor

    This morning, Adobe released Premiere Clip for Android, a free video editor for all to use, but one that can also be used as a “gateway into the full feature set” of Premiere Pro.

    With Premiere Clip, Adobe is allowing all of us to quickly edit and share videos we have taken on our phones. You can choose soundtracks, drag and drop clips or photos, trim everything to only the footage you want seen, and even add lighting adjustments, transitions, and other effects, like slow motion.     Whoa: Instagram on Android Gets Multiple Account Support

    An update to Instagram is rolling out on Android as v7.12.0 that brings a significant new feature – multiple account support! For those of us who operate a business and a personal Instagram account, we can now control both without having to log in and out each time! I can’t even begin to describe how big of a deal this is for all sorts of industries (and the DL IG account).

    When you update, in order to add a secondary account, you’ll need to go to your profile page, hit the menu button in the top left, and then scroll all the way down until you find the “Add Account” option. Tap that and sign in.  (more…)

    Probably thanks to the holidays, NVIDIA is listing a ton of great games at 50% off this week on Google Play, including DOOM 3 BFG Edition ($5) and the Half Life 2 episodes. Each of these games will require you to own a compatible device, which currently, is the SHIELD TV, SHIELD Tablet, and SHIELD Tablet K1.     Remember that new Google Play UI that was teased back in early October, the one we said was starting to rollout the next day? Turns out it didn’t really rollout to many for a good month.     Android Pay and Google.org are teaming up with DonorsChoose.org to support the 6.4 million children in the US education system with special needs. Starting today and running through December 31, every time you use Android Pay, Google is donating a dollar to special needs education projects, up to $1 million. Not only that, but on Black Friday, when you use Android Pay to purchase goods, Google will double their contribution to $2.  (more…)

    Google Awakens the Force With Star Wars Themes for Apps, Includes Gmail and Maps

    Because there was not already an over saturation of Star Wars crap for you to buy in stores, Google has launched Star Wars themes for your apps, just in case you needed more Force in your life. If you have a Google account, and use it for Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, and other Google services, you can experience what the Light or Dark side have to offer their users.

    To start, you will need to choose a side – Light or Dark. Once a side is chosen, you will begin to see Star Wars themes throughout many of Google’s applications, whether it is on an Android device or desktop computer. For example, I chose the Dark side, opened my Gmail, and I was greeted with a darkly colored Empire theme. In addition, if you open Google Maps, find your home, you should see a Death Star.  (more…)
