Google is Retiring Picasa, Time to Switch to Google Photos
If you are still using Google’s Picasa photo service, it’s almost (finally) time to say goodbye. I know, breaking up with this dinosaur of a photo service will be tough, just like it was when your wife recently pried your fingers off of that Windows Vista machine, sold your Tango and Cash VHS for $0.50 in last weekend’s garage sale, and bought you new t-shirts that had sleeves on them. I promise, though, it’ll be OK. (more…)

ASICS Will Acquire Runkeeper
Runkeeper, the popular running app on Android and iOS that I seem to use over all others, will no longer be an independent service. ASICS, maker of legitimate running shoes that aren’t always the best looking (Yes, I’m a sneaker snob.), is acquiring them. Runkeeper announced the news via blog post this morning, noting how “big” the news is and that they are “proud and excited.” Good job, Runkeeper team. (more…)

Google+ 7.2.0 Update Brings Faster Web Browsing, Search History
Still rocking Google+? If so, a big update is rolling out for the Android app, one which includes 29 bug fixes, addressed accessibility issues, and a strengthened web browsing experience.
As detailed by Googler Luke Wroblewski, the app now utilizes Chrome custom tabs to preload web sites when they are linked to inside of a Google+ post. This allows web sites to load much faster. Not only will speeds be increased, but other features like saved passwords, autofill, and Tap to Search are also available in custom tabs. (more…)

Kanye West is Streaming Yeezy Season 3 and His New Album on TIDAL Right Now (Updated)
Kanye West is an interesting character, one could say. He offends a lot of people. Says really ridiculous sh*t. Changes albums titles far too often. And is, maybe surprisingly, pretty damn successful outside of hip hop (mostly in fashion and shoes). Today, he’s showing all sides of him with the reveal of his Yeezy Season 3 clothing line, but also by letting the public hear his new album, “The Life of Pablo,” for the first time. Hate him or love him, he’s hard to ignore.
Unfortunately, you can only watch and listen to any of this on TIDAL, the music service that is by musicians, for musicians, or something. Jay-Z owns it – at least I think he still does – and the point of it (at least this is how we’re being sold on it) is to push higher-quality streaming audio over other streaming services. It’s also supposed to make us feel bad for musicians who have already made hundreds of millions of dollars in their careers. (more…)
